UPDATE: South Shore has become windier as the day

UPDATE: South Shore has become windier as the day goes on, affecting visibility and surface conditions. Small waves at the shoreline may make entry and exit more challenging.

Additionally, please keep an eye out for brown water and avoid any areas where you see it, as it can carry bacteria and debris. Due to these changes, we’re lowering the score for South Shore from 7.0 to 4.5.

One other note: The park is closed at Kamaole 2 for repairs related to the recent storm: the beach is open but park facilities (bathrooms, etc.) are closed.

Northwest: 1.0

Extremely dangerous ocean conditions today with massive, powerful waves, strong currents, and a treacherous undertow. Waves are crashing high onto the shoreline without warning, so please stay well back from the water’s edge. Winds are strong, and there’s a slight chance of showers.

Ka’anapali: 4.0

The south face of Black Rock offers the calmest conditions today, but be sure to avoid the tip of Black Rock, where strong currents are expected along with elevated shorebreak waves. Kaʻanapali will see a mix of weather, with sunshine and passing showers throughout the day. Strong winds are forecasted, which will create currents in deeper waters, so please exercise caution.

South Shore: 4.5

Wind and small waves have increased earlier than expected today, affecting underwater visibility. Please keep an eye out for patches of brown water as a result of the recent storm and avoid. Mostly sunny skies are forecasted with morning clouds expected to clear, though they may return in the afternoon.
