Maui’s South Shore and Ka’anapali zones are offering really nice snorkeling early this morning, while the Northwest has some waves and passing rain. The main factors today will be strong winds. Conditions will shift, so check the live beach cameras on the emailed report for the latest updates.

Northwest: 4.5

Waves have picked up and scattered showers will likely continue through the morning. Winds are also very strong across the zone. The inside of Kapalua Bay is the calmest, but currents near the point are strong and waves become powerful outside the bay.

*Honolua Bay temporarily has no restroom facilities. Please avoid if possible. Do not leave waste in this area.

Ka’anapali: 7.0

Conditions look calm this morning with mostly small waves. The south face of Black Rock is in good shape and may offer good wind protection as conditions shift, though currents near the point remain strong. Kahekili Beach Park is also pleasant for now, but wind is expected to pick up and could make things choppy. There’s a chance of scattered showers drifting down from the mountains, with strong afternoon winds.

South Shore: 7.5

Come see us at The Snorkel Store across the street from Kamaole Beach Park 1, because Kamaole 1, 2, and 3 along with Ulua Beach, Wailea Beach, and Makena Landing are all looking really nice this morning. Winds are expected to increase which would make the water rough by midday or possibly a bit later. Skies should stay mostly sunny, with a chance of clouds later.
