Northwest: 6.5

Passing rain showers this morning may continue off and on. Kapalua Bay is looking nice and calm, though currents remain strong out near the points. Honolua Bay is mostly calm as well, though the stream may begin flowing murky water depending on rain in the mountains. They’re getting smaller, but there are still some waves along the more exposed beaches and winds are strong.

Ka'anapali: 7.5

Sunshine and light winds this morning. Surf is rising throughout the day. We’re starting to see waves south of Black Rock, where currents are already stronger than usual. Kahekili Beach should stay calmest the longest, though it will become more hazardous at some point. Exactly when the surf begins affecting conditions more noticeably remains to be seen. Clouds and isolated showers are possible later today.

South Shore: 7.0

A beautiful beach day with sunshine and light winds this morning. Waves will continue building, though conditions are still looking pretty nice early. The Kamaole Beaches and Ulua Beach should stay calmest the longest, while surf will likely become most hazardous down toward the Makena area first. Exactly how large the waves become and when they peak remains to be seen. Increasing afternoon winds will add to the roughness. Always avoid waves and murky water.
