It’s a lovely morning across Maui, with light wind It’s a lovely morning across Maui, with light winds and nice ocean conditions to start the day. Along the South Shore, some beaches have experienced sand displacement and temporary erosion, so use caution when exploring these different areas. Check the details below to find out which beaches are offering the best snorkeling conditions today.

Northwest: 8.0

The Northwest zone is looking great this morning, with light winds and calm conditions. Honolua Bay and Kapalua Bay are calm and clear and should stay pleasant throughout the day. Avoid any brown or murky patches of water near the stream at Honolua Bay. Currents are strong and potentially dangerous near the points and beyond the bays, so don’t venture too far out. Sunshine is expected for most of the day. Please tread lightly and mālama ʻāina in this special place.

Ka’anapali: 7.0

Conditions have improved from yesterday at Black Rock, but there are still some small waves occasionally rolling in. With light winds expected for most of the day, Black Rock should be a nice choice today if you avoid the waves. Kahekili Beach is also looking nice this morning, though it’s more exposed to the wind, so the water may get choppy as afternoon winds pick up. We’ll see lot’s of sunshine today, with some passing clouds and breezy afternoon winds.

South Shore: 6.5

It’s a sunny, beautiful day with light winds early. Waves are still slightly elevated but will continue to get smaller. Many beaches are still heavily eroded from the recent surf, with limited or no access at the Kamaole beaches and Ulua Beach while sand slowly returns. Makena Landing looks calm this morning, but watch for occasional waves. Wailea and Polo Beach also have potential. Conditions may get rougher later with strong afternoon winds.
