Maui’s South Shore has the calmest water and the most sunshine this morning. Ka’anapali is starting to clear up after a breezy start, and rain is moving through the northwest zone. You can check the live cameras on the emailed report for changes.
It’s raining this morning. Once it clears, snorkeling should be really nice inside Kapalua Bay. Honolua Bay is super calm and excellent, and should stay that way unless the stream starts flowing. Winds are strong, and currents are powerful near and beyond the points.
*Honolua Bay temporarily has no restroom facilities. Do not leave waste in this area.
Ka’anapali: 7.5
Conditions should improve as the sun rises and the wind eases. Scattered showers are likely this morning but should clear up. The south face of Black Rock is offering wind protection and an area of calm water. There are still some surging waves to thoughtfully avoid. Kahekili should improve this morning before becoming rough again later as winds increase.
South Shore: 8.5
Snorkeling conditions are excellent this morning, and if the light winds hold, it could stay nice for a while. Kamaole Beaches, Ulua Beach, Wailea Beach, and Makena Landing are all calm and clear to start the day. Keep an eye out for some lingering surf. Increasing winds could make things rough later. Sunshine is expected.
