Maui is starting the day with incredible snorkeling conditions. There is still a slight chance of passing showers, and conditions could become rough as winds increase this afternoon.
Clear visibility and calm water can inside the bays, with Kapalua Bay and Honolua Bay looking especially amazing. Outside the bays, seas are much rougher, with strong winds and powerful currents near and beyond the points. Gusts are expected to strengthen later, but these bays should remain inviting for most of the day. Mostly sunny, with a chance of clouds forming.
Ka’anapali: 9.0
Absolutely beautiful conditions this morning at Kahekili Beach Park, with clear water and small waves. The south face of Black Rock is also looking great. Currents become strong in deeper areas and near the point, and there’s a chance Kahekili could get a little bumpy if the wind picks up this afternoon. Mostly sunny skies expected.
South Shore: 9.0
From Kamaole Beaches 1, 2, and 3 through Ulua Beach, Wailea Beach, and down to Makena Landing, snorkeling is incredible this morning. Surf remains small, though a few areas may have slightly elevated waves. Conditions may become pretty rough with breezy afternoon winds. Sunshine is expected for most of the day.
