Happy Aloha Friday! Calm and crystal-clear waters are making for an incredible morning to explore Maui's reefs. Light winds this morning make it the best time to get out in the water. Be aware that conditions may change later, as stronger winds and elevated surf could move in this afternoon. Check the snapshots below for more details.

Northwest: 9.0

It's a spectacular morning at Honolua Bay, Kapalua Bay, and Napili Bay, where calm water and excellent visibility are making for great snorkeling conditions. If you're heading out, plan to go early before afternoon winds have a chance to build and create rougher, choppier seas. Stay within the sheltered areas for the calmest conditions. Please help protect these special places by treading lightly and practicing mālama ʻāina.

Ka’anapali: 8.5

Light morning winds are setting up excellent snorkeling conditions at Kahekili Beach and along the south side of Black Rock. As always, use caution near and beyond the point, where strong currents are common. If you're planning to snorkel here, the morning is your best bet, as afternoon winds may bring choppier conditions later in the day. Expect a mix of sunshine and passing clouds, with the chance for a brief rain showers.

South Shore: 8.5

Gentle waves and mild winds are making for a fantastic start to the day along the South Shore. The Kamaole Beaches, Ulua Beach, and Makena Landing are all in great shape for the day. Winds should remain fairly light through much of the day, though stronger afternoon breezes and elevated surf could lead to choppier, rougher conditions later on. Expect mostly sunny skies, with a chance of some clouds and brief light showers this afternoon.
