Happy Aloha Friday! It’s another phenomenal mornin

Happy Aloha Friday! It’s another phenomenal morning for snorkeling across Maui! Conditions are ideal, with light winds and plenty of sunshine to start the day. Trade winds are expected to pick up again this evening, and we may see passing rain showers later in the day. Check out the snapshots below for a closer look at today’s beach conditions.

Northwest: 8.5

It’s sunny morning with light winds in the Northwest Zone. Honolua Bay is very calm, though there’s still a patch of murky water to avoid. Please tread lightly and help keep this fragile ecosystem pristine. Check visibility from the overlook before heading down. Kapalua Bay is also wonderful and calm this morning, though currents can become very strong near the points. Plenty of sunshine is in store today for a great day at the beach!

Ka’anapali: 9.0

Kahekili Beach and Black Rock are looking fantastic this morning! Conditions are calm and clear, with very light winds and plenty of sunshine today. Even when the ocean appears calm, currents can become very strong in deeper waters and around the tip of Black Rock, so please use caution. We could see a few passing showers later this afternoon, but overall, today is shaping up to be a wonderful beach day!

South Shore: 8.0

The Kamaole Beaches, Ulua Beach, and Makena Landing are looking great this morning, with calm ocean conditions to start the day. A small bump in surf may develop later today as south-facing shores see a modest increase from a long-period south swell filling in. Skies will be mostly sunny, and winds will remain light throughout the day, with a slight chance of showers later on. Still, watch for any brown or murky water from the last storm, and always avoid it.
