Happy Aloha Friday on Maui! Snorkeling conditions are looking really nice in areas of all three zones. Some cloud cover and breezy trade winds today. See details below, and keep in mind conditions can change. Be aware there are brown water advisories from Kalama Park into North Kihei, as well as just north of Launiupoko down to Olowalu Stream.

Northwest: 7.0

There could be some isolated showers this morning with breezy winds. Surf has dropped, though it’s still rough in some areas and could pick up again later today. Visibility is good inside the bays, with the innermost area of Kapalua Bay the calmest. Currents remain strong near the points. Winds are strong.

Ka'anapali: 8.0

Conditions are looking really nice with mostly small waves. Kahekili is looking good with occasional small waves. The south face of Black Rock has a really clear and calm pocket, though currents are very strong near and beyond the point. Breezy afternoon winds may make things rough in some areas. Morning clouds should clear before returning later.

South Shore: 8.5

Excellent conditions this morning with mostly small waves and light winds. All three Kamaole 2 and 3, Ulua Beach, Wailea Beach, and Makena Landing are looking nice and calm early. There are still a few waves to watch for, and they may pick up slightly later as winds increase, making conditions rougher in the afternoon. *There is a Brown Water Advisory from Kalama Park into North Kihei.
