It’s a beautiful morning on Maui with a mix of conditions. We’re still seeing elevated surf in some snorkel zones, but there are still some great beaches to explore. Check the snapshots below for more details. Expect a mix of sunshine, clouds, and possible rain showers, so keep an eye out for those famous Maui rainbows!

Northwest: 6.0

While there are still some waves, conditions have calmed down quite a bit from yesterday. Kapalua Bay is looking really nice, though currents remain strong near the points. Honolua Bay has cleared up some, though it’s still rough near the point and there may still be some murky water. Winds are expected to pick up this afternoon. Please help keep these special places clean and beautiful, Mālama ʻāina.

Ka’anapali: 4.0

Black Rock has some sizable waves today, making visibility poor and entry/exit from the water along the beach more difficult. Kahekili Beach appears calmer, but watch for surging waves rolling in. Winds are expected to increase this afternoon. Conditions can change quickly and may improve later as the swell decreases through the day. Expect sun, clouds, and possible rain showers.

South Shore: 5.0

Kamaole Beach Park 1 and 2 has the calmest conditions this morning, with the smallest waves. Further south, at Wailea Beach and Makena Landing, elevated surf and some choppy water are making visibility poor and ocean entry and exit challenging. Conditions may improve this afternoon. Expect a mix of sunshine, clouds, and possible rain showers throughout the day.
