Maui has calm, clear water in areas of all three z

Maui has calm, clear water in areas of all three zones this morning, especially in the Northwest where Kapalua Bay and Honolua Bay are looking great. South Kihei and parts of Ka’anapali are also offering inviting conditions, although with stronger currents and waves in some areas. Check the live beach cameras in the email report for updates throughout the day.

Northwest: 8.5

Ocean conditions are nice and calm inside the bays, with Kapalua Bay and Honolua Bay especially inviting this morning. Currents become very strong out near and beyond the points. Please keep in mind conditions can change. Strong wind continues. Mostly sunny, though clouds could bring isolated showers.

*Honolua Bay temporarily has no restroom facilities. Do not leave waste in this area.

Ka’anapali: 7.5

Sunshine and lighter winds are expected today. Kahekili Beach Park (Airport Beach) has the smallest waves and calmest water this morning, though it may become rough as afternoon winds increase. The south face of Black Rock should have good visibility, but waves and currents are stronger here, especially out near the point. Sunshine with afternoon clouds expected.

South Shore: 7.0

Sunshine and light winds are making for an absolutely gorgeous beach day. South Kihei has the calmest water, with all three Kamaole Beaches looking really nice as long as any small waves are avoided. Heading south into Wailea and especially Makena, the waves become bigger and could be hazardous in some areas. Stop by The Snorkel Store across from Kamaole Beach Park I.
