A beautiful breezy Monday on Maui is bringing a mix of sunshine and clouds. The smallest waves are along the South Zone. A strong north swell is creating dangerous conditions in the northwest, with elevated surf reaching into Ka’anapali as well. Conditions can shift quickly, always assess before getting in. Enjoy your day!

Northwest: 1

Ocean conditions are extremely dangerous with powerful waves, currents, and undertow. A High Surf Advisory is in effect. It is recommended to stay out of the water here today. Strong winds and passing clouds with some showers.

Ka'anapali: 5.0

Waves are up and can be hazardous, especially at Kahekili with strong winds. The south face of Black Rock has a slightly calmer pocket, though there are waves and currents are strong especially near the point. Mile Marker 14 south of Lahaina could be worth a look early before winds pick up. Partly sunny with a slight chance of showers.

South Shore: 8.0

Conditions are looking good this morning with small waves and some nice potential for clear water. The north and south ends of the Kamaole Beaches, the north corner of Ulua, and Makena Landing are great places to check! As winds pick up later, seas will likely become pretty rough. Some cloud cover that may clear before returning.
