Maui’s South and Kaʻanapali zones are offering

Maui’s South and Kaʻanapali zones are offering the calmest water today. The more wind-protected bays in the Northwest are also looking good. Increasing winds throughout the day may make conditions rough, and a small south swell is in the mix, which could bring rising surf heights. Be sure to keep an eye out for changes and have a lovely day!

Northwest: 6.5

Very windy, though conditions inside the bays are fairly calm. Kapalua Bay is the calmest, with Honolua Bay also looking good, though slight changes in visibility are possible. Currents remain very strong near and beyond the points, and conditions are rough outside of the bays. Some wave activity could increase. Please be extra mindful in Honolua and always mālama ʻāina.

Ka'anapali: 8.0

Small waves this morning with good visibility. Surf may rise a bit today. The south face of Black Rock has a nice wind protected area though currents remain very strong near and beyond the point. Kahekili Beach has clear visibility but may become rough as afternoon winds pick up. Mostly sunny, with clouds possible.

South Shore: 7.5

Gorgeous start with sunshine and mostly small waves this morning. The Kamaole Beaches, Ulua Beach, and Wailea Beach are all looking calm early. Waves have picked up slightly and are more prevalent down toward Makena. It looks like the surf will increase through the day. Winds are expected to pick up this afternoon, making conditions quite rough later on.
