    Across the island, Maui is seeing lighter winds th Across the island, Maui is seeing lighter winds this morning with passing showers moving through. A strong north swell along with a smaller south swell is bringing elevated surf across the island, with powerful waves and currents in many areas.

Brown and murky water remains in spots and should be avoided. More rain is expected later today into the weekend, and a Flood Watch is in effect from this evening through Sunday.

Northwest: 2.0

Dangerous ocean conditions continue with powerful waves and strong currents across the zone. The smallest waves are in the innermost area of Kapalua Bay, though currents remain very strong. Additional rain will likely increase brown water in the area. Mostly cloudy with passing showers.

Ka'anapali: 6.0

Waves are getting smaller but still breaking strong currents in areas Kahekili Beach has the smallest waves and the best potential for clearer water, though surging waves should be carefully avoided. Passing showers and stirred-up sand may reduce visibility. Brown water may still be present in some areas and should be avoided due to high bacteria levels.

South Shore: 4.5

Light winds with some sunshine trying to peek through at times. Waves are easing and smallest along Ulua Beach, though they are still breaking. Visibility is still affected by stirred-up sand and lingering runoff in spots. Brown water may still be present and should be avoided due to high bacteria levels. Passing showers increasing later today.
