    We get you #TURTLEREADY

A Tsunami Advisory remains in effect for Maui this A Tsunami Advisory remains in effect for Maui this morning. Officials are advising everyone to stay out of and away from the ocean until further notice due to strong currents and unpredictable sea level changes. The advisory may be lifted by midday, but even after that, debris or shifting conditions may linger. On top of that, a new south swell is expected to build throughout the day, bringing hazardous surf to parts of the island. See zone details below.

Northwest: 7.0

Conditions are calm and clear inside Kapalua Bay and Honolua Bay. However, extremely strong currents are present near the points and outside the bays. Winds are very strong again today, and a few passing showers are possible. Surf will begin rising in Napili and could eventually push into Kapalua Bay. Officials recommend waiting for the Tsunami Advisory to be lifted.

Kaโ€™anapali: 5.5

Surf expected to rise through the day. Kahekili Beach Park is the calmest spot early on but could get rough as wind and surf build. Conditions are changing along Black Rock, where waves and strong currents are already increasing near and beyond the point. Officials recommend waiting for the Tsunami Advisory to be lifted.

South Shore: 5.0

Sunshine and light wind this morning, but the new south swell is beginning to impact the shoreline. Makena will see waves first, followed by Wailea and then the Kihei area. Kamaole 1, 2, 3, and Ulua Beach are calmest early, but conditions will likely shift. Officials recommend waiting for the Tsunami Advisory to be lifted.
