    We get you #TURTLEREADY

Maui is waking up to a beautiful, sunny morning, a Maui is waking up to a beautiful, sunny morning, although strong winds are still a factor and will affect each zone differently throughout the day. As strong trade winds continue, a High Wind Advisory remains in effect. Keep in mind that conditions can change several times throughout the day. Always avoid rough surf and murky water. See the snapshots below for a closer look at which beaches are best to enjoy today.

Northwest: 7.0

Honolua Bay is calm, but it's extremely windy, creating choppy surface conditions on the water. The stream is flowing lightly, and there is some brown, murky water to avoid. Kapalua Bay is also calm, though there are a few small waves to watch for. Conditions may become more challenging later today as afternoon winds strengthen. For the safest experience, remain in the protected sections of the bays, as stronger currents often develop near the outer points and other exposed areas.

Ka’anapali: 6.5

Kahekili Beach Park is looking a too rough this morning with choppy water and waves to watch out for. Currents are strong in deeper areas, so use caution if you get in the water here. The south face of Black Rock looks better with calmer water, and will offer good wind protection but exercise caution around and beyond the point, where currents become stronger. Afternoon winds are expected to increase, making the morning hours the best window for snorkeling and swimming.

South Shore: 7.0

It's a lovely morning on the South Shore, with sunshine and lighter trade winds. Kamaole I, II, and III, along with Ulua Beach, are offering the best conditions today. Makena Landing and Wailea are experiencing larger waves and choppier conditions, so use caution when entering the water. Winds may increase this afternoon. For the best snorkeling and swimming conditions, plan to get in the water early.
