Happy Valentine’s Day, ocean lovers! It’s a mi Happy Valentine’s Day, ocean lovers! Northwest: 4.5

Honolua Bay has elevated surf today, resulting in rough snorkeling conditions and reduced visibility. Kapalua Bay is more protected and will offer the calmest option, though some waves are still present so use caution when entering and exiting the water. Outside the bays and near the points, conditions remain rough and potentially dangerous. Winds may increase at times, creating additional surface chop. Expect plenty of sunshine, along with strong afternoon winds and some clouds developing later in the day.

Ka’anapali: 8.0

Kahekili Beach Park and Black Rock are looking great this morning, with calm early conditions. Strong winds are expected to pick up later this afternoon, which could make the ocean increasingly choppy. Keep an eye out for stronger currents in deeper water and near the point, and avoid venturing too far offshore. With a mix of clouds and sunshine in the forecast, it’s shaping up to be a fantastic beach day!

South Shore: 8.5

The South Shore is calm and inviting this morning, with excellent early conditions at Kamaole I, II, III, Ulua Beach, and Makena Landing. Further south in Wailea, a larger shore break is present, so extra care is advised when entering and exiting the water. Trade winds remain light across the South Shore today, though currents may be stronger in deeper areas. Expect sunshine throughout the day, with the possibility of light showers, perfect conditions for spotting some epic Maui rainbows.
