Conditions around Maui are changing as the northern waves continue to subside. Surf is just barely starting to rise out of the south, though the waves are pretty small, they may increase later in the day.

Northwest: 6.0

The inside of Kapalua Bay and Honolua Bay have calmed down quite a bit, though strong currents near and beyond the points persist, so caution is advised against venturing too far out. Waves remain strong along the beaches more exposed to open ocean. Mostly sunny though clouds may form. Strong winds are returning.

Ka’anapali: 6.5

Kahekili Beach looks really nice once past the small waves. Despite being fairly small, the consistent waves and swells around Black Rock are creating stronger than usual currents. Sun is expected though clouds may form. While winds are expected to pick up, conditions should remain favorable for most of the day. Surf may increase later as well.

South Shore: 7.0

Waves picked up slightly overnight, and while they aren’t big, they are consistent. The south ends of the Kamaole Beaches, Ulua Beach, and even Makena Landing are looking pleasant this morning. However, increasing waves and winds this afternoon will likely make the seas too rough later.
