Each Maui snorkel zone has areas with calm water. Each Maui snorkel zone has areas with calm water. An extremely high tide this afternoon, likely between 1 PM and 5 PM, will cause beaches to shrink and some usually dry areas to flood. The road may flood south of Olowalu, so allow extra time when driving from the West Side.

Northwest: 7.0

Scattered showers this morning with strong wind. When the rain lets up, it is calm inside Honolua Bay and Kapalua Bay. Be cautious not to swim out too far, currents are extremely strong near the points, and the open ocean outside the bays is very rough and hazardous. It is not expected, but if the rain continues the stream could flow at Honolua, causing murky water to avoid.

Ka’anapali: 8.0

Clouds this morning should clear up nicely and return again later. It is a bit breezy, however Kahekili Beach Park is looking really nice for snorkeling. Currents are strong in deeper water. The south face of Black Rock is also looking good. Be cautious as currents are very strong out near the point. Some surging waves on the shoreline to avoid. It could become rough later as winds pick up.

South Shore: 8.5

Beautiful and mostly sunny with light wind this morning. The Kamaole Beaches, Ulua, Wailea, and Makena Landing look really good early. There are some slightly elevated waves, though they are not very big and are most prevalent in Makena. Anything is possible, but conditions will probably become very rough this afternoon as the wind increases.
