    We get you #TURTLEREADY

Something special is in the air across Maui today. Something special is in the air across Maui today. Light winds and mostly calm conditions are making for a beautiful start to the day, though a new long-period south swell is expected to begin filling in later on, bringing potentially hazardous waves by this afternoon or evening. We expect a mix of sunshine, passing clouds, and the possibility of scattered showers. Always avoid waves and murky water.

Northwest: 7.5

Kapalua Bay is looking really calm, though currents remain strong near the points and can become hazardous if you swim out too far. Honolua Bay is also looking calm, and visibility continues to improve. It’s still a good idea to check conditions from the overlook before heading down. Strong winds and the possibility of scattered showers are expected through the day, while conditions remain much rougher outside the bays and along more exposed shorelines.

Ka'anapali: 8.0

Small waves and clear water this morning. A new south swell is expected later today and could bring potentially hazardous waves this afternoon or evening. Kahekili Beach is excellent and should remain calm until the winds pick up later on. The south face of Black Rock is also looking clear, though currents remain strong near and beyond the point. Sunshine, passing clouds, and the possibility of scattered showers.

South Shore: 7.0

Wonderful conditions this morning with light winds. Kamaole Beaches 1, 2, and 3, Ulua Beach, and Makena Landing are all looking good early. A new long-period south swell is expected to begin filling in later today, and conditions could become hazardous at some point. Exactly when the larger waves arrive is difficult to predict, keep an eye out for changes through the day. Sunshine, passing clouds, and a few scattered showers are possible.
