Conditions across Maui are improving. Ka'anapali and the South Shore Zone are offering calm waters, while waves are still causing hazards in the Northwest Zone.

Northwest: 2.0

Waves are still impacting the area, posing hazards at most beaches, with currents remaining very strong. The innermost area of Kapalua Bay provides some protection from the larger waves; however, currents are notably strong, especially around the points. Mostly sunny with light winds expected.

Ka’anapali: 8.0

—> Because of ongoing relief efforts, please be extremely mindful in this zone.

Beautiful beach day with light winds expected. While there are occasional surging waves to be mindful of, Kahekili Beach Park still offers excellent snorkeling. The south face of Black Rock is tranquil, but currents become dangerously strong beyond the outer rock tip.

South Shore: 7.5

Calm water and clear visibility prevail at most spots. A small, building south swell is bringing occasional waves. This morning, Mile Marker 14, the Kamaole Beaches, Ulua Beach, and Makena Landing are all offering great snorkeling. We can expect mostly sunny skies with increasing winds this afternoon.
