Maui often sees improving conditions, and this morning the South Shore offers the calmest waters. Ka’anapali is rougher, though there’s potential for improvement later. Dangerous waves are expected in the Northwest zone, so stay aware and assess conditions carefully.

Northwest: 2.0

Waves are rising with hazardous conditions expected to develop as the day progresses. While Kapalua Bay offers smaller waves this morning, strong currents make it risky, and it’s likely to become more dangerous. Onshore winds are adding to the choppiness, further impacting visibility and safety.

Ka’anapali: 5.0

The surf has picked up, kicking up sand and making snorkeling a bit challenging this morning. While waves aren’t huge, they’re enough to stir things up, particularly around the south face of Black Rock and Kahekili Beach. Conditions could improve later, but strong currents remain around the point and in deeper water, so assess carefully before heading out.

South Shore: 6.0

The winds are calm this morning, and the ocean surface is glassy; however, there are some waves in areas. The Kamaole beaches are pretty calm, with just small waves, though there may be some sand getting kicked up. Makena Landing could see improvements as the day goes on. Chance of isolated showers and afternoon wind.
