Beautiful Maui beach day, with sunny skies. While waves remain up in some areas, they’re on the decline, with Ka’anapali offering the smallest waves and the most inviting conditions. As always, it’s important to check conditions before diving in, as things can shift throughout the day. Enjoy the beauty and stay safe!

Northwest: 6.0

The surf has dropped a bit, but strong currents and powerful waves still persist in more exposed areas and near the points. Always take time to assess conditions from the beach and stick to calm water. Kapalua Bay is looking inviting once in the water, keep an eye out for waves washing along the shoreline, they’re smaller but still require attention. Also, avoid venturing out near the points, where the currents and waves are strongest.

Ka’anapali: 7.0

Mostly sunny skies and favorable winds are expected today. The waves are continuing to decrease but are still breaking in some spots, and the steep beaches can make entry and exit tricky. Be sure to time the surf carefully when getting in and out of the water. Kahekili Beach Park (Airport Beach) is improving, as is the south face of Black Rock. However, it’s important to avoid getting too close to the rock, as waves still push toward it, and currents remain strong near the point. Take your time and stay mindful while in the water.

South Shore: 4.0

Beautiful sunshine and light winds, making for a great start to the day. While the surf is expected to ease, powerful waves are still present in some areas, especially around Makena and Wailea, which remain the most hazardous spots. The south end of the Kamaole Beaches is seeing smaller waves. Breezy afternoon winds may create choppier conditions later on. Always take time to assess conditions before heading in, and stick to areas free of breaking waves for a safer experience.
