Across Maui, snorkeling conditions are looking won Across Maui, snorkeling conditions are looking wonderful this morning. Today is King Kamehameha Day, honoring the leader who united the Hawaiian Islands. Mostly sunny skies and small waves are making for calm conditions in many areas, though surf may begin rising later today and a few scattered showers remain possible. Always keep an eye out for changing conditions and avoid waves and murky water.

Northwest: 8.0

Ocean conditions are calm and clear inside the bays. Kapalua Bay is particularly nice, with strong currents still possible near the points if you swim out too far. Honolua Bay is also calm, the stream is slowing, though there are still a few murky patches. Check conditions from the overlook before heading down and mālama ʻāina while visiting this special place. Strong winds are creating rough seas in areas, scattered showers are possible.

Ka'anapali: 9.0

Amazing snorkeling conditions this morning with calm water and excellent visibility. Kahekili Beach is crystal clear and may stay calm for much of the day, though increasing winds could make conditions a bit rough later on. The south face of Black Rock is also looking excellent, with strong currents remaining near and beyond the point. There’s a slight chance of clouds and scattered showers moving through later.

South Shore: 8.5

Outstanding conditions this morning with calm water. Kamaole Beaches 1, 2, and 3, Ulua Beach, Wailea Beach, and Makena Landing are all looking fantastic early. Conditions may hold for much of the day, with afternoon winds and a rise in surf possibly adding some roughness later. Mostly sunny skies are expected, with clouds possibly increasing this afternoon.

Napili Bay hosts soft golden sand and crystal-clear, often glass-calm water on West Maui.

Its sheltered reef teems with colorful fish and friendly honu (green sea turtles), making it one of the island’s most beginner-friendly spots for snorkeling and a picture-perfect place to watch a glowing sunset over Molokaʻi.

Float in the gentle surf, soak up the sun, and admire the palm-framed vistas, Napili Bay feels like the very essence of laid-back Hawaiian paradise.
