It’s a beautiful morning on Maui with light wind It’s a beautiful morning on Maui with light winds and plenty of sunshine. Snorkeling conditions are favorable overall, with calm spots in each zone. Getting out early is recommended, as afternoon winds and rising surf may cause changes later in the day. Northwest: 8.5

Kapalua Bay and Honolua Bay are beautiful this morning with calm water and clear visibility inside the bays. Napili Bay is also calm, though the high tide has left little beach exposed, the shoreline will open up more later in the day. Stronger winds are expected this afternoon, which could make the ocean rougher. It’s best to stay within the protected areas, as currents become stronger and more dangerous in deeper water beyond the points.

Ka’anapali: 7.0

Kahekili Beach Park is beautiful this morning with calm, clear water and light winds. A south swell is bringing in small waves, which can make entering and exiting the water a little tricky, so use caution. The south side of Black Rock is also looking good, but be mindful of surges from the shore break and stronger currents near and past the point. This afternoon, winds are expected to increase making things rougher.

South Shore: 6.5

Ulua and Kamaole Beaches 1, 2, and 3 are looking great this morning with mostly small waves and light wind. At Ulua, the high tide has reduced the sandy shoreline, but it should improve by the afternoon. Further south, Wailea and Makena beaches have larger, more hazardous shore break, so use extra caution. Entering and exiting the ocean in these areas will be difficult.
