It's a cloudy start to the day, with some light early morning rain and strong trade winds impacting Northwest Maui and the Kaʻanapali area. As the morning showers move out, expect plenty of sunshine mixed with passing clouds for the rest of the day. Widespread rainfall is not expected. Check the snapshots below to see how to plan your day ahead.

Northwest: 7.5

The Northwest zone is starting the day with sunshine and clouds. Honolua Bay looks excellent this morning, with very calm water. The stream is flowing lightly, but if heavier rain develops, the bay could become murky. Avoid entering murky water. Kapalua Bay also looks calm and inviting this morning. Strong trade winds will continue to build this afternoon, so ocean conditions may become choppier later in the day. Expect a mix of sunshine and clouds, along with a few light showers on and off today.

Ka’anapali: 8.5

Black Rock and Kahekili Beach both look excellent this morning, with very calm water. It's already windy, and trade winds will strengthen this afternoon, so conditions may become choppier as the day goes on. Kahekili is more exposed to the wind, so it could become too rough later today. Be mindful not to venture too far offshore, as currents remain strong. There will be sunshine, some passing clouds and light rains are possible today.

South Shore: 8.0

Light winds and a mix of sunshine and clouds are starting the day across South Maui. The Kamaole Beaches, Ulua Beach, and Makena Landing all look great this morning. Farther south in Wailea, keep an eye out for shoreline waves and use extra caution if entering the water. Expect mostly sunny skies with passing clouds today, along with the chance of a few brief showers from time to time.
