Maui offers the most sunshine along Ka’anapali a

Maui offers the most sunshine along Ka’anapali and the South Shore Zones today. The Northwest has scattered showers this morning but should clear up nicely.

Northwest: 6.0

Winds are strong and clouds are moving in, bringing scattered showers this morning. It should start to clear up by mid-morning. Seas are rough outside the bays, but the inside of Kapalua Bay and the innermost Honolua Bay look calm and nice. There’s a fine line further out from shore where currents become very strong.

Ka’anapali: 6.5

—> Because of ongoing relief efforts, please be extremely mindful in this zone.

There are waves along the shoreline to be cautious of, the biggest south of Black Rock. Currents are strong around the rock tip. Kahekili Beach Park has smaller waves and calmer water. Mostly sunny with favorable winds expected for most of the day. There’s a slight chance of isolated showers.

South Shore: 6.0

The waves are getting smaller; however, they are still elevated at times. The waves are the smallest along the Kamaole Beaches and the north end of Ulua Beach. They are the biggest in the Makena area. Sunshine and light winds this morning. Stronger winds this afternoon possibly creating rough conditions.
