It’s a beautiful Saturday morning on Maui, with sunshine and a gentle breeze to start the day. Snorkeling conditions are best around Ka’anapali and the South Shore. In contrast, the Northwest region is experiencing hazardous high surf and should be avoided. With peak monthly tides and elevated surf, some low-lying coastal areas may see minor flooding early this morning. Plan ahead and allow extra travel time.

Northwest: 3.0

It’s a sunny morning with lighter winds, but ocean conditions at Honolua Bay are extremely rough. Rising surf and very strong currents are present. Kapalua Bay is calmer, though visibility may be reduced due to the elevated surf. It’s best to avoid this area today and choose Kaʻanapali or the South Shore for safer ocean activities.

Ka’anapali: 8.0

It’s an amazing morning at Kahekili Beach and Black Rock, with excellent snorkeling conditions that should last throughout the day. Be cautious not to venture too far, as currents are very strong in deeper water and beyond the point. Light winds and plenty of sunshine are expected for most of the day.

South Shore: 8.0

Kamaole Beaches are looking excellent this morning, along with Ulua Beach which has the smallest waves. Farther south in Wailea and Makena, larger surf and choppier water make ocean entry and exit more challenging, so use extra caution. Expect plenty of sunshine today, perfect for an amazing beach day.
