It’s an amazing day for snorkeling on Maui, with gentle morning winds and calm, clear conditions in all three snorkel zones! Expect a beautiful, sunny day, but be aware that afternoon winds will pick up and may make conditions rougher. Check the snapshots below.

Northwest: 9.0

Snorkeling conditions are fantastic within the bays today. Both Kapalua Bay and Honolua Bay are calm and clear, with good visibility. These conditions should hold for much of the day, although stronger afternoon winds could make things rougher and bring in some lingering cloud cover. Please help protect these special places, tread lightly and mālama ʻāina.

Ka’anapali: 8.5

Black Rock has wonderful conditions this morning, with light winds, clear water, and excellent visibility. Currents are stronger in deeper areas and increase near and beyond the point. Kahekili Beach has some small waves but is still looking nice. Conditions may become rougher later as afternoon winds increase. Mostly sunny skies are expected, with a chance of clouds moving in later.

South Shore: 8.5

It’s a gorgeous day along the South Shore, with sunshine and light winds this morning. Kamaole I, II, and III, along with Ulua Beach, look amazing. Makena Landing has some small, choppy waves but should be good if they’re avoided. Larger waves are present in Wailea, so use caution when entering and exiting the ocean in this area. Expect mostly sunny skies today, with a chance of passing afternoon clouds.
