Happy Aloha Friday! Snorkeling conditions are beau Happy Aloha Friday! Snorkeling conditions are beautiful this morning across Maui, with calm water and excellent visibility, especially in the Northwest and Ka’anapali zones. Light winds make the morning the best time to get out and explore. Be aware that conditions may change later, as stronger winds could move in this afternoon.

Northwest: 8.5

Honolua Bay and Kapalua Bay are looking excellent this morning, with light winds, calm water, and clear visibility inside the bays. Napili Bay has small waves, but the high tide has left only a small portion of the beach exposed. Stronger winds and rising surf may develop this afternoon, making conditions rough and choppy. It’s best to stay within the protected areas, as currents can pick up near and beyond the points.

Ka’anapali: 8.0

Kahekili Beach Park is beautiful this morning, with calm, clear water and light winds. Visibility is excellent, but be cautious of stronger currents in the deeper areas. The south side of Black Rock is also clear and inviting, though currents get stronger near and past the point. This afternoon, winds are expected to pick up and surf is likely to rise.

South Shore: 6.5

It’s shaping up to be a sunny day with light winds through the morning and early afternoon. Waves are up and will continue to build today, especially in the Makena area. The calmest spots are at the Kamaole Beaches and the north end of Ulua Beach, though high tide at Ulua has reduced the sandy shoreline, leaving less space for lounging.
