A Special Turtle Rescued By The Marine Center

Tom Kellogg’s Story

Aloha, I live in Pukalani and my favorite activity is snorkeling.  I love it so much that the Snorkel Report is mandatory daily reading for me, whether I am going out or not.  I just want to know what is going on in the ocean and you guys deliver in a way that no other source does.  You are a part of my life and always a positive one, even through these tough times.

Mahalo nui loa! I have tons of reef footage from my adventures, but I want to just share my favorite/most memorable underwater sighting.  I saw this lil’ guy off Keawakapu last fall.

If you notice, the very clear “F” on its shell identifies it as one of the turtles released by the Maui Ocean Center last summer.  While I always do my best to be a good steward of nature, this was the only time I had something really unique I could give back to the local scientific/conservationist community.  It may sound cheesy, but I was so genuinely excited I came out of the water yelling so much my girlfriend on shore thought I must have been hurt, but I was just so happy!

Your reports helped make that trip and countless others the best they could be, and for that I will be forever grateful, and forever and customer and referrer.

Thanks for all you do, and continue to do even when there is no chance of business gain for you.  It speaks volumes about your business, and about you as good people.

I cant wait for these troubles to pass so I can come in and show you my appreciation with my business…  and treat myself to some nice new gear to celebrate the return to normalcy!

Aloha nui loa, Tom Kellogg, Pukalani
